Swing bar stools (2)
Herbert + Jutta Ohl
Designed by German architect Herbert Ohl in collaboration with Jutta Ohl and produced by Lübke in the early 1980s, the Swing bar stools are a striking example of minimalist postmodern design. Defined by their sculptural silhouette and cantilevered construction, these stools balance clean geometry with functional elegance. The frame is crafted from black tubular steel, forming a distinctive S-shaped profile that gives the stool a light, floating appearance. The seat and backrest are composed of slim, concentric steel rods that flex slightly under weight, offering a surprising level of comfort despite the stool’s minimal form. Notably, these stools still retain their original cushions, which can be attached to the seat for added comfort.
