Moonface Clock
Massimo Morozzi
The Moonface Clock, designed by the visionary Italian architect and designer Massimo Morozzi, is a minimalist yet poetic wall clock that reflects his radical design sensibility. Originally produced by Progetti (model 0090), the clock draws inspiration from lunar forms—its name and design subtly referencing the phases and surface of the moon. At first glance, the clock appears as a simple, circular disc with a clean metallic or aluminum finish. But a closer look reveals its most distinctive feature: the hour hand is represented by a rotating inner circle, a design choice that emphasizes motion and visual intrigue. The outer disc remains stationary while the inner circle moves slowly throughout the day, embodying the passage of time in a quiet, meditative way. A minimal minute hand contrasts this, extending outward with elegant precision.
