Massimo Morozzi

The DRY Armchair, designed in 1987 by architect and designer Massimo Morozzi for Giorgetti, is a striking example of postmodern Italian design. Constructed like a sculptural puzzle, the chair is composed of 32 individual wooden pieces, each finished in a different color and held together by a single central screw—a poetic feat of design and balance. Morozzi, a founding member of the radical design collective Archizoom Associati, brought his postfunctionalist vision to this playful yet precisely engineered piece. The Dry Chair is both a functional object and a conceptual statement—an emblem of 1980s design innovation and a collectible work of art.
